Ethiopian is a corporate citizen engaged in non-profit activities that support the community at large. One such example is the longstanding partnership between Ethiopian and the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia. For more than 7 years. Ethiopian has been partnering with The Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia, which provides life saving operation for children with heart disease thanks to medical professionals, who volunteer their time and expertise to perform cardiac surgery. Prior to the launch of the cardiac center at the Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa, in February 2009, hundreds of children had to travel abroad to receive medical treatment for their heart condition. At that time, Ethiopian had stretched its helping hands by providing free air transportation to the children to travel to the USA, Tel Aviv, Delhi, and Bangkok, so that they can undergo heart surgeries. After the establishment of the cardiac center, Ethiopian has continued its support by offering free air transportation, to the volunteer medical professionals, who come from different parts of the world to perform heart surgery. Ethiopian also supports the cardiac center by availing free shipment of medical equipment and life support systems, which build the cardiac center. In total, Ethiopian provided support that enabled to give medical care to more than 1500 children.
